With the increasing number of Internet-connected devices and easier access to fast-speed broadband connections it is important to understand how to stay safe within the on-line environment. Social Media, YouTube, blogs, video blogs etc., are fantastic tools to communicate with other people but can also become dangerous tools in the hands of a wrong person.
At Daventry UTC we pride ourselves in putting the safety of our students and staff as a main priority. Below, there are two links to websites - for both students and parents - on how to stay safe within on-line and digital environments. We would like to encourage everybody to spend a moment to familiarising themselves with these websites.
UK Safer Internet Programme
CEOP, the IWF and NSPCC form the UK's Safer Internet Centre as part of the European Commission's Safer Internet Plus Programme.
CEOP are the UK's awareness node, responsible for empowering and protecting communities online.
Get Safe Online is a public / private sector partnership supported by HM Government and leading organisations in banking, retail, internet security and other sectors. The site also keeps you up to date with news, tips and stories from around the world.
We have also made these link accessible at any time from our website via the Parent Section.
